The price of colour laser printers has come down considerable in recent years and has made them accessible to a wider range of users. The Samsung CLP-300n is one such printer, it is a fully network ready colour laser printer which costs not much more than a good quality business inkjet printer. First impressions of the CLP-300n when you remove it from the box is that its very compact for a colour laser and its difficult to see how it possible hold four large printer cartridges. It isn’t until you see the cartridges that you realize that they aren’t the usually bulky units but small cylindrical tubes which slot neatly into the printer and are easily accessible. Operation noise of the CLP-300n is very quiet the paper feed is smooth. Printing speed for monochrome documents is pretty good at 16ppm but colour printing is slow with 4ppm and this makes the CLP-300n not a very good heavy duty printer. The CLP-300n is a great for printing all types of documents on a variety of types of media. Printing text and graphics is where the CLP-300n is at it best and although it can print photographs they not of the standard which you get from an inkjet printer. The CLP-300n can be shared between numerous PCs using the built-in Ethernet or can be used as a standalone machine and works well in both of these environments.
